We all have those days where our beds seem like the best place on earth. Buried deep within the warm confines of your sheets, wrapped in the security blanket of solitude. Sometimes we want to spend days this way, hiding from the world outside. Though, sometimes these days are necessary, there are moments when you find yourself in that seemingly inescapable funk it feels like there’s no way out. Here are some feel good movies to watch to make you feel a little better about your day.
Feel Good Movies #1
Set in London, England, this movie follows the lives of eight couples as they deal with different life events in the hectic one month before Christmas. This is by far one of my favorite feel good movies because it shows the universality of love in all capacities.

Carl, a 78-year old widower decides to travel to South America by tying thousands of balloons to his home. Little does he know he won’t be adventuring alone. There is a small stowaway 70 years his junior along for the ride. This movie shows the importance of having an open heart and open mind because in the end we really should all be looking out for each other.

The Darjeeling Limited
After their father dies, three brothers set out to find themselves on a trip to India and strengthen their strained relationship. There’s one pivotal scene in this movie that will undoubtedly make you cry, but also make you feel that the sordid reality of life can bring about the most beautiful, genuine emotion.
Feel Good Movies #4
Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
A movie based on the famous works of JRR Tolkien, the first installment of this fantasy trilogy shows the creation of the fellowship and beginnings of an epic journey through Middle Earth. Chronicling the trials of two little hobbits who face unrelenting challenges, this entire trilogy embodies the strength of perseverance and the resilience of humanity.
Feel Good Movies #5
Indiana Jones, Raiders of the Lost Arc
The fast-talking adventure-seeking archaeologist, Indiana Jones, is hired by the US government to find the Ark of the Covenant before the Nazis. This is basically the story of one man against an army. Not only is he searching for the Holy Grail, but for his missing father. Indiana Jones’ character is one of the best embodiments of pure passion and he has the best one-liners!
Marion: You're not the man I knew ten years ago.
Indiana: It's not the years, honey, it's the mileage.
Feel Good Movies #6
After stumbling across a treasure map a group of kids set out to find a lost treasure. This is yet another story about defying the odds and taking a leap of faith without worrying about consequences or failure.
Feel Good Movies #7
An introverted young boy, Elliot finds an extraterrestrial and does everything in his power to help him return home. The relationship that develops between the boy and E.T. is so sweet and Elliot’s dedication to get ET home is so inspiring. He defies everyone to get his friend home.
Feel Good Movies #8
Oliver & Company
Loosely based on the tale of Oliver Twist, Oliver & Company follows an orphan kitten as he tries to make it in the city. With awesome songs by Billy Joel and a heartwarming story, this movie will leave you feeling great about life! Above is one of the best songs in the movie!
Why should I worry?
Why should I care?
I may not have a dime
But I got street savoire faire”
Feel Good Movies #9
After being tossed out of the land of Make Believe a young princess, Giselle, must acclimate herself to the stresses of the real world. Will she lose her whimsical views on love and life in the harsh reality of NYC? The best part of the movie are the spontaneous song interludes where people around her are sincerely baffled by Giselle’s sudden outbursts into song.
