Straining your eyes from prolonged computer use? If you spend long hours at your desk, staring at a computer screen, try this easy exercise created by Jack Dennerlein, a professor at Northeastern’s Bouve College of Health Sciences in Boston who specializes in ergonomics and safety.
After using your computer for 20 minutes, turn your head away from the computer screen and look at any object that is 20 feet away from you for 20 seconds. This changes the focal length of your eyes, which will energize tired eyes.
For dry eyes, blink 20 times in a row. Blinking re-moistures by producing tears that refresh the eyes.
After sitting in one position for 20 minutes, get up and walk 20 paces. This promotes blood circulation for the body and proper posture for the spine.
