diabetes blog week 2015

We will change diabetes. For the Better.

Since its emergence, diabetes support and care has greatly improved; better aids and management tools are readily available for those living with the condition.
During the last 30 years, improvements have been made in glucose measurement, insulin administration and the types of insulin available. These changes have significantly improved the lives of people living with diabetes.

Perhaps you remember when glucose monitoring was done with urine. Or color changing tablets used to measure ketones. Today’s devices are smaller, and more accurate.

Right now research in several places are working on devices that will essentially replace damaged organs with bionic ones. You can ready our earlier article about bionic organs here.

More education and availability of resources and care is needed on diabetes. It’s not enough to merely have stats and facts about diabetes. People need this information in an easily digestible format, readily at their disposal from a reliable source at that. Better information = better diabetes support and management.

We believe that is what we have in healtheo360; a community made up of not only health professionals but patients and advocates covering chronic conditions such as diabetes and beyond. The daily inspiration we have is to bring reliable information as well as create and expand our member’s knowledge with real stories drawn from other people’s experiences.

Even though everyone’s journey through life is different, it’s always comforting to know that there are people who share your experience. A community that can hear you out or answer questions you have in a way that only someone who has “been there” can answer. You could be that person.

We understand that change is difficult, especially if you’ve been recently diagnosed. But it’s not impossible. With the support and encouragement you’ll find within the healtheo360 community, or any organized body of people living with diabetes, you’ll realize that being diabetic does not define who you are. Who you are is defined by what you do. healtheo360 is here to provide you with free tools  – like our support groups – to help you along that journey.
