Is your skin healthy? Do you think you can be a victim of skin cancer? National Healthy Skin month encourages everyone around the world to protect and take care of his or her skin, hair and nails. The healtheo360 team has put together a few tips to help you achieve healthy skin, if you don’t already have.

Healthy Skin

Healthy Skin Tip #1: Eat a healthy diet

Incorporating a lot of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins into your daily meals, can help to promote healthier skin. Eating a healthy diet can definitely help promote healthy skin and overall health.

Healthy Skin Tip #2: Don’t smoke
Smoking contributes to wrinkles, and the narrowing of your blood vessels in the outermost layers of the skin. This will result in depletion of oxygen and nutrients in the skin that are important to your skin's health. If you smoke and want healthy skin, the best way to achieve that goal is to quit smoking.

Healthy Skin Tip #3: Protect yourself from the sun
Always protect your skin by using sunscreen with a Skin Protection Factor (SPF) of at least 15. Wearing protective clothing can help to protect your skin, from ultraviolet rays. Clothing such as woven long-sleeved shirts, long pants and wide brimmed-hats are the best when it comes to protecting your skin.

Healthy Skin Tip #4: Manage stress
Stress can lead to a lot of things physical and mentally. Uncontrolled stress can lead to your skin becoming more sensitive and triggering acne breakouts and other skin problems. Managing you stress in a more calming and relaxing way will help you mentally as well as physically.

Healthy Skin Tip #5: Treat your skin gently
Limit the amount of time that you spend in your showers. Long showers and hot water removes the natural oils from your skin. Also avoid strong scented soaps and shower gels for those products can also strip the natural oils from your skin. Moisturizing your dry skin, can help to keep your skin moist and smooth
