At some point in your life, you will surely find yourself near water whether that be on a boat, fishing on a dock, or sitting by the pool. There is no need to be afraid of the water when you get in these situations. By learning to swim, you will have a better time and feel safer near water.
2. If you know how to swim, you may be able to help others. Being able to swim is important if you are a parent or child care giver. When around children in the pool, its great to be able to swim if they ever need help.

If your feeling nervous about learning to swim, take it slow at first! Start by getting your feet in and gradually move to deeper water. Hold on to the side whenever necessary and do what makes you comfortable. Swimming can be a lot of fun once you get the hang of it!
