After the ice of winter and the blossoms of spring, it’s time to harvest some of those ultra refreshing summer fruits. Find out which of your favorite fruits are in season and toss them into your basket!

Refreshing Summer Fruits that are In Season

Refreshing Summer Fruits: Melons

Heavy with nutrients, melons are a must for your summer adventures! Cantaloupe, filled with Vitamin A and C, goes perfectly in a fruit salad to complement the iron and Vitamin B-rich honeydew. Feeling the heat? Cool down and stay hydrated with some cubes of watermelon and let the lycopene from all these melons protect your skin from the burning sun.

Refreshing Summer Fruits: Tropical

If you can’t make it to any exotic beaches this summer, bunker down with these delicious tropical fruits. Say aloha to the pineapple, a fruit that’s known for the inflammation reducing enzyme known as bromelain. For some sweetness, grab some mangoes, passion fruit, and guava for an antioxidant medley. If you’re stuck with an upset stomach and want something light, papayas are buttery soft and have an enzyme called papain to help you digest proteins. With more Vitamin C than an orange, kiwis along with all these tropical delights will keep you happy and healthy to last the summer!

Refreshing Summer Fruits: Stone Fruit

You’ve waited all year for them to reach the perfect tenderness and sweetness. Now, those stone fruit have become even juicier this summer as the warmth starts to roll in. Peaches and their non-fuzzy folks, nectarines, are perfect low calorie snacks to toss in the cooler. Apricots and plums are even more compact snacks packed with Vitamin C and can come dried with no pits! If these bore you, grab a handful of cherries that have similar nutritional benefits to its stone fruit siblings.

Refreshing Summer Fruits: Berries

Berries are known for spoiling fairly quickly but they also contain an immense amount of antioxidants that are shown to help fight disruptive free radicals in our body. Watch strawberry and blueberry prices drop this season and add them to your pantry! If you fancy some texture and fiber, reach for a bunch of raspberries, blackberries, mulberries.

Enjoy the fruits of summer (literally) and make these In-season delights part of your summer fun! It’s prime time to be the healthiest person you can be!
