If looked at from a historical perspective, barefoot running actually seems like the most natural and plausible way to participate in that form of exercise. Runners are constantly told they need the right shoes in order to protect their feet and maintain proper posture and form while running. However, the very cushions that are suppose to prevent injury may be exactly what is causing it. No conclusive evidence has been reported as to whether running shoes actually prevent injury. Running barefoot allows for the muscles in your foot to be more involved with the workout as opposed to being wrapped in the cushion of a shoe that may be causing balance or alignment issues.
