Women & Stroke: Stroke is a major medical emergency and if you or someone you know is at risk of stroke, be sure to act F.A.S.T. and receive medical treatment right away. Many risk factors can increase the likelihood of having a stroke. Women are more at risk for stroke than men because, generally, women live longer and have more risk factors. It’s important to learn about your family’s medical history and if you may be more prone to strokes due to certain or multiple risk factors.
We all want to eat well, but what happens when healthy eating is taken too far?
As more and more information comes out about our food and how it is produced many are trying their hardest to focus on ‘clean’ eating, eliminating processed foods and trying to eat foods that are more natural. This movement of a more natural diet is of course is not unhealthy at all, it is when these eating habits become obsessive that orthorexia emerges.
Many of us are experts at producing excuses for not trying yoga let alone anything new.
We make excuses why we aren’t sleeping enough, exercising or practicing healthy eating habits. Granted, for those with difficulty making ends, these “stories” are more often than not justified. But for others, excuses often mask a destructive cycle of underlying beliefs that negatively impact our health needs.
